The Whitefield Public Library Purchased Our Old Bookmobile

It’s the end of an era! Director Kaitlin Wood and Bookmobile Librarian Colleen Lariviere recently dropped off our “Books on Wheels III” vehicle at the Whitefield Public Library in New Hampshire, where it will continue to bring stories and smiles to a new town and generation. Thank you so much to Whitefield Library Director, Courtney Vashaw, for purchasing and giving it a lovely new home as your library undergoes a big renovation project. We can’t wait to see pictures soon of the bookmobile’s next adventure!

As the Summer Learning Program comes to a close, we want to thank the many people and organizations that helped make everything possible this year. We are very grateful for our incredible sponsors, including:

We also owe a special shout out to Subway and Manager Shawna Lee Williams for their support of our Summer Reading Program. They generously provided 300 coupons for free 6-inch subs for every child who completed the program.

We Now Offer Notary Services!

Do you need to have a document notarized? We can help! Director Kaitlin Wood recently became an authorized notary in the state of Vermont, and she is happy to provide this service for free to anyone who needs it. We provide several other services at the library as well, such as scanning, faxing, printing, copying, and more!

Author Event With Garret Keizer

Thank you so much to local author Garret Keizer for putting on a wonderful book reading at our library last Thursday! We had a fantastic turnout (nearly 50 people) and everyone enjoyed listening to passages from Keizer’s newest release. We are also grateful for Kim Crady-Smith of Green Mountain Books & Prints for cosponsoring this terrific event with us. We are excited to collaborate again this month on August 25th when local author Tammy Greenwood does a book signing at the library!

Free Tickets to The Craftsbury Chamber Players

Free tickets to The Craftsbury Chamber Players’ 60th Anniversary season are now available at the Cobleigh Public Library. The Craftsbury Chamber Players have provided us with 12 tickets to their concerts. Each ticket admits one person to any of the concerts throughout the season. Tickets can be requested at the front desk of the library.
The purpose of this program is to expand access to their concerts, strengthen community bonds, and increase audience engagement. Concerts begin July 15th and are every Wednesday at Elley-Long Music Center and Thursdays at the Hardwick Town House, through August 20th. All concerts are at 7:30 pm (pre-concert discussion @ 6:45). For more information, please call or stop by during our open hours.

We Were Featured On WCAX & Magic 97.7!

The Cobleigh Public Library made the news! On June 16th, reporter Lizzie Jensen of WCAX aired a story about our brand new mobile library, also known as the Edie Bell-Brown Bookmobile! It was a very cool experience for our staff, and if you haven’t had a chance to see it, the video link is below.
Our Library Director, Kaitlin Wood, was also interviewed by Jeff Garfield of Magic 97.7 on the morning radio broadcast of June 17th. They discussed how the library offers many valuable services and fun events for people of all ages in the community. Thank you, Jeff, for this wonderful opportunity!

The Edie Bell-Brown Bookmobile

Check Out Our New Electric Mobile Library!

We are excited to share that our new bookmobile — also known as the Edie Bell-Brown Bookmobile, which we named after one our past beloved patrons — is officially finished! We picked it up at the end of May from Great Big Graphics (a company that wraps vehicles) in Johnson, Vermont. They did a fantastic job! For those who are interested in seeing the vehicle up close in person, the library will host a Bookmobile launch party on June 19th at 4 pm during the first Family Fun Friday and Summer Reading Program kickoff. We also have plenty of free books & other fun bookmobile-related items to give away to families.
