We’re excited to share that Cobleigh Public Library has launched a brand-new website, our first major website update since 2008.

A lot has changed since then. The new site has a fresh look, an updated logo, refreshed pages, an added news section, and is now mobile-friendly that makes it easier to find library information from your phone, tablet, or computer.

Cobleigh Library Website back in 2008

Cobleigh Library Website back in 2008, when we were offering the latest in audiobook technology, MP3 players, on loan to our patrons!

This project is also a special full-circle moment for us. The old Cobleigh Library website you’ve been used to was built in 2008 by the same person who has kindly hosted the library’s website for free all these years. Now, nearly two decades later, they have created this new version as well, entirely through the donation of their time.

We are thankful for that continued support and generosity. Community libraries depend on people who give their time, talent, and care to help keep local resources strong, and this website is a perfect example of that spirit. If you have time to donate, please consider becoming a Friend of the Library or Volunteer!

We hope the new site makes it easier for patrons, families, visitors, and neighbors to stay connected with library services, events, updates, and news.

Take a look around, explore the new pages, and check back often for the latest from Cobleigh Public Library.

Upcoming Events:

We have exciting news to share! The Cobleigh Public Library is proud to announce that we are the recipient of a $10,000 grant, which is part of the Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communitiesan American Library Association initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities. We will have more details to share soon!

Thank you to the Manton Foundation for awarding the library a $72,000 grant, which allowed us to acquire this all-electric 2025 Chevy BrightDrop 600. We also want to express our gratitude to Caleb Grant of Rural Community Transportation (RCT), for permitting the library to charge and store the new vehicle for free at their facility every night, which will be a huge cost savings in the future. Additionally, thank you to Chuck’s Flooring for recently installing new carpet in the BrightDrop for free, and to Jason Coons and Nutrien Ag Solutions for granting us access to their indoor garage so this work could be completed. Likewise, StoneCrest Properties generously donated $300 to cover the cost of a new bookmobile computer so that our driver, Colleen Lariviere, can check out books to families while on board the vehicle. We really appreciate the support that we have received from these wonderful community partners!

We are very grateful for Lyndonville Ace Hardware, which selected the Cobleigh Public Library as their recipient for the March Round Up Campaign. They generously raised $1,559.54 for the library!

Our Director, Kaitlin Wood, was chosen to participate in a pilot program sponsored by the University of Vermont, which enables the Cobleigh Library to access resources, scholarly articles, and other texts from UVM’s extensive databases and comprehensive digital catalogs. If you have any interest in a particular topic, want assistance with a research project, or wish to have a specific article printed out for you, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or stop by the library, since we are happy to help!

This pilot program will continue until March 2027, so you have plenty of time to access some amazing and valuable information. If you have any questions about this pilot program, please send an email to kaitlin@cobleighlibrary.org.

We were thrilled to have a therapy dog visit the library last month.

Thank you so much to Sarah Gagne and her dog, Penny Lane (of Therapy Dogs of Vermont) for joining our Book Club and Toddler Story-Time groups.

We are excited for them to return once every month!

The Friends of the Cobleigh Library are looking for new members! If you are interested in joining or learning more about our non-profit organization that helps support the library through annual fundraisers, volunteer work, and fun community events, then please click here! The Friends also invite anyone interested in joining the group to their next meeting on Tuesday, May 5th at 5 pm. We hope to see you there!

Did you know that the library offers free museum and park passes (to wonderful places like Echo, Vermont Historic Sites, Vermont State Parks, etc.) for families to check out? We also have other unconventional items available, such as fishing poles, a corn hole set, a pair of crutches, a medical walker, a telescope, a football, a basketball, and more! You can see all of the items in our “Library of Things” below!
